CREST - The Crest is the pictorial symbol of an Ashtadala Padma Mandala visualized in the traditional jhoti pattern of Orissa. This is composed of the letters ‘B’ and ‘K’ the first two initials of Bibhuto Kanungo College of Art & Crafts. The composite motif ‘B’ and ‘K’ is multiplied on four cardinal points encompassing the entire visual around. The designing pattern has no beginning and end and it indicates an eternal flow. The square within the pattern stands bhumi the earth and circle for the cosmos. The total concept reflects universalism, which is the fundamental of art education. The Ashtadala Padma Mandala signifies beauty, wisdom, purity, virtue, auspiciousness and creativity. Padma or Lotus is our national flower. It is the favourite of Sarasvati, the goddess of learning and the presiding deity of Kala (Fine Arts).
